TENNIS NIGHT IN AMERICA


Tennis Night In America was a huge success! The two, February 26th, TMDF National Youth Registration events were filmed and seen on National Television during the BNP Paribas Showdown in Madison Square Garden.

Our sign-up totals were: Gier Community Center - 38; Court One Athletic Club - 87; Foster Community Center - 15; Southside Community Center - 6; and Letts Community Center - 28.

If you missed one of these events you can still sign up for Spring NJTL and Local Excellence classes and Summer NJTL and Local Excellence classes.



Be a part of the largest youth tennis registration effort across America February 26th - March 1st! Choose one of the dates below and join us as we celebrate tennis through fun games, activities, snacks, and prizes for all beginners and intermediate players ages 8 - 18. Take advantage of early registraton for the Todd Martin Development Fund NJTL and Local Excellence spring and summer tennis programs provided in cooperation with Lansing Parks and Recreation. The events are free, no registration is necessary, and equipment is provided.

National Youth Registration events serve as "opening day" for parents to signup their kids for league and team tennis play, including USTA Jr. Team Tennis. The registration initiative is a part of "Tennis Night in America" which will be held on March 1 and will feature the "BNP Paribas Showdown for the Billie Jean King Cup" at New York's Madison Square Garden. Participants in this year's field includes: 2009 Australian Open and Wimbledon champion Serena Williams, US Open champion Kim Clijsters, French Open winner Svetlana Kuznetsova and seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams. The one-night, single-elimination tournament will take place before a live national TV audience on ESPN2 and MSG.
